Radium Removal
Radium in a water supply can be problematic for small systems. Radium is a low-level radioactive element that occurs naturally in ground water. The removal process may be by ion-exchange, reverse osmosis, or absorption. If the site only has septic systems for wastewater disposal, absorption of the radium will more than likely be the only practical method of removal of radium. This will require special permitting through the State Health Department.
